Wasatch County SAR responds to multiple calls on New Year’s Eve

WASATCH COUNTY, Utah — Wasatch County Search and Rescue responded to two calls on New Year’s Eve.

The first call was received by Wasatch Emergency Dispatch at approximately 2:03 p.m., and reported that a 67-year-old man had fallen off of his horse near Little Pole and required medical assistance.

Multiple local agencies responded to the call, and the man was transported to the hospital by University of Utah AirMed. The rescue took 1.5 hours to complete.

WCSAR then received a report at approximately 5:30 p.m. of a family stranded in a utility terrain vehicle near Strawberry after the UTV began to experience mechanical issues.

A team was dispatched to assist, and the rescue ultimately took 1.5 hours to complete.
