Road closures this week on US-189 near Deer Creek Reservoir

Intermittent 15-minute closures will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. as part of the Utah Department of Transportation’s US-189 Wallsburg to Charleston project, which will expand the road from two to four lanes, update roadway features, install wildlife fencing, and enhance access and parking at the Deer Creek State Park Island Beach area.

The UDOT design team is currently gathering geotech data in the closure area near Deer Creek Reservoir to inform the future of the project. The equipment will be moved around and set up by helicopter, causing the closures.
