Tickets now on sale for annual Backcountry Benefit for the Utah Avalanche Center

PARK CITY, Utah—The 30th Annual Backcountry Benefit will take place on Thursday, September 14, from 6-10 p.m.

This is the biggest fundraiser of the year hosted by the Utah Avalanche Center at Black Diamond. The Backcountry Benefit will feature a silent auction, food and drinks, and live music. Tickets are on sale now for $45.

The Utah Avalanche Center (UAC) has a rich history, dating back to its establishment in 1980 through a collaboration with the US Forest Service (USFS). Recognizing the growing demand for avalanche education and awareness, the nonprofit Friends of the Utah Avalanche Center was founded in 1990. This pivotal step ensured that the UAC could bridge the financial gap between available funding and the actual costs of operating an avalanche center.

By securing funding through various sources, including federal, state, and county channels, as well as through their own fundraising efforts, the UAC has evolved into a leading organization responsible for avalanche awareness and education in Utah. In addition, their strategic management of the USFS partnership has solidified their commitment to enhancing safety in the backcountry

Thanks to the dedicated work of the UAC, the majority of avalanche awareness and education programs in Utah are made possible. With a strong emphasis on community support and collaboration, the UAC continues to raise funds, develop strategic initiatives, and promote responsible backcountry practices.
