Future Park City to host city council candidate forum at the Santy Auditorium

PARK CITY, Utah — Future Park City, a civic engagement initiative established in 2016 with a passionate group of 3,400 members in their Facebook group, will hold an open-to-the-public candidate-inclusive forum on August 8 at the Park City Library.

Eight of the nine candidates competing in the September 5 primary election are slated to participate with David “Pickleball Traffic” Dobkin in absence. Due to past popularity of Future Park City organized forums this years event will be held at the library to accommodate a larger audience.

The field of nine candidates will be narrowed down to six at the primary election on September 5. The Remaining six will be competing for three open city council seats.

Where & When

The forum will be held at the Park City Library on August 8 and candidates will be available for a meet and greet in the Community Room beginning at 4:30 p.m. The forum will be held in the Santy Auditorium from 6-8 p.m.

Future Park City Co-Founder Sarah Berry says, “It’s a deep field this year, some of the candidates are relatively unknown to the community, and we hope to help inform voters in narrowing the field.” Berry continues, “Voters have found our past forums a refreshing way to connect with candidates and assess their willingness and skill in tackling tough topics. Candidates, meanwhile, have found our forums fun, as well as an opportunity to more candidly assess constituent priorities and address voter concerns.”

All are welcome, including children and no event registration or ticketing is required.
