Park City primary and general election dates moved

PARK CITY, Utah – There have been nine candidates who have officially registered with the city to run for City Council this year, meaning a primary election will take place to whittle down the number of candidates. The primary election is necessary as there are more than six candidates who have officially registered to run for the three open city council seats.

The nine registered candidates include; Bob Sertner, Bill Ciraco, John Greenfield, Jody Whitesides, David Dobkin, Betsy Wallace, Matthew Nagie, Ed Parigan, and Ryan Dickey.

Two of the three sitting council members are not running for reelection, while Ryan Dickey is running to be reelected for his second term.

In conjunction with Governor Cox’s announcement to hold a special election for Congressman Chris Stewart’s seat, all municipal elections in the state have also been moved to be held in tandem with the special election. Park City’s primary elections for City Council will now be held on September 5th, and the general elections will be held on November 21st.

After the primary elections on September 5th, the top six vote-getters will advance to the general elections on November 21st. Each council member will serve a term of four years. Currently holding the three council positions open for election are Becca Gerber, Max Doilney, and Ryan Dickey.
