Outdoor Adventure X hosts first festival at Snowbasin
HUNTSVILLE, Utah — Outdoor Adventure X (OAX) is a celebration of the active lifestyle, adventure travel, and the outdoors happening at Snowbasin Resort, June 17-18. As the sister company to Outdoor Retailer, OAX is a gathering of campers, hikers, runners, cyclists, climbers, and paddle sport enthusiasts. The weekend events provide a platform for the outdoor recreation communities to unite for a weekend of family fun, inspiration, live music, and outdoor recreation education, including expert-led clinics.
“This is an opportunity for campers, runners, climbers, etc., to all come together to celebrate the outdoors,” said Jessica Kirchner, SVP of marketing. “We partnered with Weber State Universities’ outdoor program, and they have helped us to curate a really robust schedule of clinics, workshops, and roundtable discussions that are all about getting people outside.”
Intro to climbing classes, including adaptive climbing, will be offered, and others like paddle board workshops, guided hikes, intro to e-bikes, and intro to mountain biking. Attendees can explore the over 100 vendors offering a wide range of gear featuring the latest e-bikes, kayaks, camping equipment, and more.
A pop-up campground on Snowbasin Mountain will also be available. Glamping options are also available; a shuttle will be provided to the lake-side village for Pine View Reservoir activities and to Snowbasin Village.
“During the pandemic, when there was a huge influx of people recreating outside, there was also this huge impact to the land, so we have will have a lot of education around ‘leave no trace’ and ‘if you pack it in you have to pack it out’ to train that intro level to make sure they are following those ethical outdoor principals so we can all leave the land better than we found it,” Kirchner said.
Tickets are $35 for Saturday, $25 for Sunday, and a weekend pass $56.
