Snowbasin postpones opening day

WEBERE COUNTY, Utah — Snowbasin Resort announced yesterday that it will postpone its opening day from Nov. 24 indefinitely.

According to a statement from the resort, the decision was made due to current weather conditions. Rain and sun is expected in the area over the next week with highs in the 40s and 50s according to the National Weather Service.

“Our team is standing by, ready for cold enough temperatures to make snow with our advanced system,” said a statement from Snowbasin. “We expect to have an update available next week as we have more clarity on the upcoming forecast.”

The resort also decided to move its “Moose is Loose” season kickoff party that was previously scheduled for this weekend to an unknown future date.

Snowbasin is expected to debut several updates for the 2023-24 winter season, including expanded parking, new restrooms, an upgraded DeMoisy Express lift and a new patio area.
