Summit Community Garden’s summer camp registration now open

SUMMIT COUNTY, Utah – There might still be snow on the ground, but it isn’t too early to start thinking about warm weather fun and summer activities for kids.

For Pre-K and Elementary School-aged kids, Summit Community Gardens and Eats summer camps are now open for registration. The day camp offers children the ability to learn through hands-on activities such as working in the garden, cooking, nature projects, learning about plant growth, and other outdoor fun.

Summer camps are broken into two age ranges with specific camp schedules and lengths of days. All camps carry a per-week cost of $375. All summer camps are taught by Bibi Vladimirova. Scholarships are available by emailing Executive Director Sloane Johnson.

For age 3 thru rising first graders, each camp runs from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. While all camps are sold out, there is a wait list should there be any opening spots. The first camp starts on June 26.

For rising first graders through sixth graders, summer camps run from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.The only exception is the “Cycle the Cycles” camp in July, open to rising third and sixth graders. The first camp of nine available camps starts on June 12.

Visit the Summit Community Gardens website for more information on events, workshops for adults, and other opportunities.
