PARK CITY, Utah — Snow is expected throughout Utah’s mountains Tuesday afternoon through early Thursday, according to the National Weather Service.
The northern mountains are expected to see 8-18 inches of snow, with locally higher amounts of up to 30 inches in the Upper Cottonwoods, posing a moderate weather risk.

“Given the warm nature of the system, snow levels will be high initially, so best accumulations will be above 8,000 feet,” said the NWS.
Confidence is high that all Utah mountains will see at least some snow. It is anticipated that most locations in the central and southern mountains will see 6-12 inches, with locally higher amounts in the Tushar Mountains, and near Brian Head.

Drivers should check road conditions before departing during this time and consider postponing travel, or be prepared for traction restrictions on mountain routes.
