PCPD makes additional changes to Sundance Transportation Plan

PARK CITY, Utah — As the Sundance Film Festival continues, so do the traffic pattern evaluations as the Park City Police Department works to make adjustments. The PCPD has decided to make additional changes to the Sundance Transportation Plan based on the current vehicle, pedestrian, weather, and visitation forecast. Some changes went into effect at 10 a.m. this morning, while others will happen over the next week.

Among the many changes will be a return to regular parking and traffic patterns in Old Town. Two-way traffic will be allowed on Main Street, Swede Alley, and Park Avenue. During Peak Day operations, Park Avenue and Hillside Avenue will continue to be monitored and staffed.

Many of the area’s parking services, such as the Brew Pub Parking Lot, will return to their normal Peak Day rates. Other locations will return to regular operation later, with the Bob Wells Parking Lot doing so on Saturday. Both the South Marsac drop-off and Lyft pick-up and drop-off on Swede Alley will remain in place until the end of the day on Sunday.

Park City Library  Theatre and parking restrictions at the library and Mawhinney Lots will be active through February 5. Business permit holders will continue to be allowed to park in Flagpole, North Marsac, and Gateway Lots. China bridge is also available with entry from Marsac or Swede Alley.

Increased transit will continue with service to and from Richardson Flat Park-and-Ride from 5:45 – 2 a.m. Regular Transit services will resume on Sunday, including Richardson Flat, from 6:46 a.m. to 11 p.m. The Main Street trolley service will return on Sunday. Pedestrian management at the crossings of Heber Avenue and Main Street will cease.
