Silicon Slopes garners connection, collaboration between Utahn, Ukrainian tech companies

LEHI, Utah – On November 18, Silicon Slopes, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, is hosting a conversation with Ukraine’s Consul General in San Francisco, Dmytro Kushneruk, and Owen Fuller, the CEO of Marq, to discuss ways that Utah and Ukrainian tech companies are working together, as well as new ways to build bridges between the communities.

Dmytro Kushneruk, who was appointed to the San Francisco Consul General position in 2020, oversees a consular district which includes Utah and 10 other states. Kushneruk holds diplomatic rank of Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Envoy of the First class, commonly known as a minister, and he will discuss ways tech companies from Utah can further collaborate with companies in Ukraine. Kushneruk is also expected to share updates of the situation on the ground in Ukraine today.

Kushneruk will be conversing with Owen Fuller, CEO of Marq, the Salt Lake City based tech company formerly known as Lucidpress. Marq helps organizations share their brand stories and grow their audience reach by creating impactful and consistent content, and Fuller will discuss ways they have collaborated with Ukrainian companies.

The term “Silicon Slopes” originally referred to the region around Lehi, where a large number of Utah tech start-ups are based. It has now been broadened to encompass Utah’s whole startup and tech community, empowering the tech community to learn and connect with each other, using free events and seminars to bring together some of Utah’s brightest innovators.

The event is on Friday, November 18, from 12 p.m.-1 p.m., at Silicon Slopes headquarters in Lehi. To learn more or to register for the free event, please refer to Silicon Slopes website.
