Police Log: $17,000 earrings stolen; vehicle burglary leaves two broken windows

SUMMIT COUNTY, Utah — A Summit County Sheriff’s deputy was dispatched to a home in Jeremy Ranch after the victim reported that a pair of $17,000 diamond earrings were stolen.

The complainant had placed the earrings in a specific location within the residence prior to her cleaning company providing services. Among the cleaning staff were several new employees with whom the complainant was unfamiliar. The case is ongoing, with investigators taking over.

Saturday, October 15

A vehicle parked at Matt Knoop Memorial Park was broken into sometime between noon and 3 p.m. The unknown suspect broke two windows enabling the suspect to reach inside and steal a purse and a wallet. The victim canceled the stolen credit cards.

There are no active leads to pursue at the moment though the case is with the investigations team.
