Brush up on avy skills at the 15th annual Utah Snow and Avalanche Workshop

UTAH — The Utah Avalanche Center will be holding its 15th Annual Utah Snow and Avalanche Workshop (USAW) on November 2 and November 9 from 6:00 – 9:00 p.m. in conjunction with the US Forest Service. The event will be held online, and registration can be purchased for $10 at the event website.

USAW is designed to bring snow professionals from around the west to share their knowledge about avalanches with anyone who is interested. According to the USAW website, “regional avalanche workshops are the most time and cost-effective way to build and refresh advanced avalanche skills.”

These snow professionals will include forecasters, patrollers, snow scientists, highway avalanche crews, search and rescue personnel, mountain guides, ski industry manufacturers, backcountry skiers and snowboarders, and avalanche researchers. Most of the workshops will be carried out in 15-minute presentations with question and answer sessions.

The full schedule for the event and more details about presenters are available on the Utah Avalanche Center website.
