Summit County Sheriff’s with potential leads regarding catalytic converter thefts

PARK CITY, Utah. — Summit County Sheriff’s deputies are investigating several incidents after a string of catalytic converter thefts that occurred near the Redstone Shopping Center earlier this week.

On Tuesday, deputies received several reports of catalytic converter thefts near Center Dr. At some point between 9:30 p.m. on May 16 and 1 p.m. on May 17, a catalytic converter was stolen. The complainant stated that he would try and obtain video surveillance from his building manager.

That same day, deputies received another call where a complainant stated that two of his work trucks had their converters stolen in the same area on May 16 at approximately 6:30 p.m. The complainant had access to video that showed a tan colored Chevrolet Suburban as the suspect vehicle with at least two occupants inside. Notably, the license plate was obstructed in order to conceal the number.

The case is still under investigations and the suspects remain at large.
