SNOWBIRD, Utah — On Saturday one of Snowbird’s new aerial tram cabins fell during installation — no one was injured but the resort’s president and general manager, Dave Fields, said the cabin “will likely not be reusable.”

The construction project was being carried out by DoppelMayr/Garaventa, according to Lift Blog.
Fields said the resort is hoping to have one working tram cabin later this summer. The initial opening date was set for late June.
The new tram cabins feature floor-to-ceiling windows as well as a summer seasonal experience featuring glass floor panels and a rooftop balcony, which is the first of its kind in the United States. The rooftop balcony has room for up to 15 people.
