PARK CITY, Utah. — The Stein Eriksen Lodge, located in Deer Valley Resort, will once again be the host venue for the annual Jan’s Winter Welcome on Saturday, October 23. The black-tie optional night is the premier fundraising event supporting youth winter sports programs in Park City. Each year, the Youth Sports Alliance (YSA) raises vital funds to support more than 2,800 kids participating in the seven YSA-supported competitive winter sports programs and YSA’s after-school programs, Get Out & Play and ACTiV8.
There is a high likelihood that this event will sell out soon. Some of the most prominent members of the local community, the snow sports industry, and friends from across the country, mingle, dine and bid on auction items while raising more than $400,000 to support teams and fund scholarships for junior athletes. One of the means by which YSA supports athletes is with the YSA Stein Eriksen Endowment Fund which helps local families continue to pursue their athletic dreams throughout the town’s demographics and throughout the years.
From 6 pm to midnight, there will be a hosted bar, hors d’oeuvres, a silent auction, a seated dinner, a live auction, a program, and dancing.
Rub elbows with local Olympic alpine ski racing’s two-time gold medalist Ted Ligety and other Olympians and Olympic hopefuls from the sports of luge, speed skating, snowboarding, nordic combined, figure skating, cross country skiing, freestyle skiing, and more. These athletes are among the Parkites who gladly sign up just for the chance to be on the waitlist, just to volunteer on that night.
