SNAPPED: It takes a village of firefighters
A temporary village was erected to feed, shelter, and provide a gathering (meeting/respite) area for the nearly 200 firefighters in Park City. The village was set up at the Park City Ice Arena which is managed by Park City Municipal.
The greater majority of the firefighters have been released from this grateful town to fight other more pressing fires in Northern California or to return to their homes as the Parley’s Canyon Fire is now 80% contained.
Prior to the Parley’s Canyon Fire mandatory evacuations being lifted Monday night as a result of helpful rainstorms, more than 50 individual tents could be seen scattered throughout the sports fields in the foreground of this photo.
