A ‘Jill of All Trades’ at UDOT Cottonwood Canyons

COTTONWOOD CANYONS, Utah. — This week, the Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT) Cottonwood Canyons released a video about one of its co-workers, with the hashtag #MeetTheCrewMonday. UDOT Cottonwood Canyons is definitely not your average department of transportation. It has to deal with much more, including avalanches and blizzards. All skiers and boarders out there who frequent the Cottonwood Canyons owe a debt of gratitude to this team.

The UDOT team highlighted the work and what its employees love about their teammate, Julie Allen. They even used the term ‘Jill of All Trades’ to describe her. Allen started her career with UDOT as an accountant and eventually moved to fieldwork with the snowplows for the UDOT Cottonwoods Maintenance Shed 233. She’s been in the field for three years, working on all sorts of machinery required to keep Utah roads safe and open.

The Facebook post sang her praises: “Julie’s hard work, dedication, willingness to take on new things, teamwork mentality and fun-loving attitude are some of the reasons the 233 crew loves to have her on the team.”  An evergreen reminder from UDOT: Always check road conditions before travel.
