Summit Park Douglas Fir Beetle Education

Community partners are hosting PJ Abraham, Northern Area Forester, and Colleen Keyes, Forest Health Coordinator with the Utah Division of Forestry, Fire and State Lands, for a field-based learning session focused on the recent Douglas-fir beetle outbreak in Summit Park.
Participants will learn how to:
- Identify Douglas-fir trees and signs of beetle infestation
- Recognize beetles and their galleries up close
- Understand strategies for managing and preventing future outbreaks
The presentation will conclude with an open Q&A session. Don’t miss this opportunity to learn from local forest health experts and see the impacts firsthand in the field.
