Summit County event to spotlight Kimball Junction projects, including former Dakota Pacific development

Six Ridge Partners, formerly Dakota Pacific Real Estate, will join county and transportation officials Oct. 3 to share updates on Altus Park City, the PEAK Center and SR-224 improvements.

SUMMIT COUNTY, Utah — Summit County will host a free Oct. 3 community event to highlight major projects underway and planned around Kimball Junction, including Altus Park City, transportation improvements, and the county’s new PEAK Center.

Representatives from Six Ridge Partners, formerly Dakota Pacific Real Estate, will also be there. Six Ridge is the developer behind the project previously known as Dakota Pacific and now called Altus Park City.

“Taco-bout Kimball Junction” will run from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 3, at 6301 N. Landmark Drive. Summit County, High Valley Transit, Six Ridge, the Utah Department of Transportation, and other partners will share project information and designs and answer questions.

Residents will be able to see designs for Altus Station and a planned pedestrian bridge over State Route 224. They can also get a look inside the PEAK Center, the former Skullcandy headquarters being converted into a hub for county library services, public meetings, and other community uses.

The event will also include free taco and falafel food trucks sponsored by Six Ridge and Summit County, children’s activities, informational booths, Summit Bike Share activities, and a Summit County Health Department vaccine clinic.

Around 1 p.m., attendees can participate in the Summit County Library’s “Book Brigade,” which will help move selected books from the Richins Building into the PEAK Center.

The event comes as Altus Park City and transportation projects along the SR-224 corridor move forward around Kimball Junction.

The event is free and open to the public.
