Recycle Utah shares facility update, September cleanup events

PARK CITY, Utah — Recycle Utah will host its September Green Drinks event Tuesday, Sept. 15, from 6 to 8 p.m. at its facility, 1951 Woodbine Way.

The event will include an update on plans for Recycle Utah’s future Silver Summit facility, results from a summer public survey, and information about planned programming and operational capacity at the new location.

Recycle Utah is expected to meet with its contractor later this month to determine final project costs. The organization expects to move into the Silver Summit facility in April 2027.

Attendees should park in the Munchkin parking lot and bring their own food, drinks, and lawn chairs. Registration is required.

Recycle Utah will also participate in Serve Park City on Saturday, Sept. 19, with a community cleanup from 9:30 a.m. to noon. Volunteers will meet in the lower parking lot at Park City High School and should wear bright clothing, closed-toe shoes, and work gloves. Cleanup bags will be provided.

Groups will clean areas along the road toward State Route 224 and U.S. 40, while younger volunteers will be assigned to the Rail Trail. Advance registration is requested.

Recycle Utah’s Hazardous Waste Day will be held at a new location this year, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 26, at the Silver King parking lot, 1498 Lowell Ave., near the Mountain Village base of Park City Mountain Resort.

The event is open to Summit County residents and does not accept waste from businesses.

Bicycles in any condition will also be accepted. Bikes may be sold to support Bicycle Collective programs, donated to adults or children in need, or recycled if they cannot be reused. Donations are also accepted.
