Park City’s Ted Ligety, Stephani Victor named to U.S. Ski & Snowboard Hall of Fame

PARK CITY, Utah — Two Park City skiers will join the U.S. National Ski & Snowboard Hall of Fame’s Class of 2026.

Park City native Ted Ligety and Park City-based Paralympian Stephani Victor are among the nine inductees announced Tuesday. The class will be formally inducted during the U.S. National Ski & Snowboard Hall of Fame’s annual Snowsports History Celebration in Ogden on April 10, 2027.

Ligety is known as one of the most accomplished American alpine ski racers of his generation. The four-time Olympian won Olympic gold medals in the combined event in 2006 and giant slalom in 2014, along with seven World Championship medals, including five gold.

Over a career spanning roughly two decades, Ligety also recorded 25 World Cup victories and 52 World Cup podium finishes across five disciplines. He won six World Cup season titles and in 2013 became one of only four men to win a World Championship title in three different disciplines.

The Park City native continues his ties to the local ski community. Currently, he serves as a global athlete ambassador for Deer Valley Resort, where he leads a performance camp focused on high-level skiing and carving.

Victor’s career brought a different set of accomplishments to the slopes.

A five-time Paralympian, Victor won five Paralympic medals — two gold, two silver and one bronze — during a 20-year racing career. She also won four World Championship titles, four World Cup discipline titles, and an Overall World Cup title.

Victor recorded 24 World Cup victories, 75 World Cup podium finishes, and 12 U.S. National Championship titles. She was the first athlete to win back-to-back Super Combined gold medals at the 2009 IPC World Championships and 2010 Paralympic Games.

She was also one of only three Americans, and the only American woman, to win Paralympic gold in alpine Super Combined.

Victor has continued advocating for adaptive skiing and equality in the sport following her competitive career.

Together, Ligety and Victor represent two generations and disciplines of elite ski competition.

The 2026 class also includes Salt Lake City-based photographer Scott Markewitz, whose work has appeared on 21 Powder magazine covers and more than 500 national and international magazine covers. His career documenting skiing began in 1986 and has included commercial campaigns and editorial work featuring elite skiers around the world.

The remaining inductees are Dave Holli of Ishpeming, Michigan; Brad Holmes of Lake Tahoe, California; Tim Petrick of Burien, Washington; C.B. Vaughan Jr. of Manchester, Vermont; and ski mountaineering partners Jim Morrison and the late Hilaree Nelson of Telluride, Colorado.

The April 10, 2027, induction ceremony will take place at the Ogden Eccles Conference Center, with Snowbasin serving as the on-snow partner. Additional event and ticket information is expected to be released by the Hall of Fame.
