Democratic candidates schedule October campaign events across Summit County

PARK CITY, Utah — Democratic candidates running for local, state, and federal office will make a series of campaign appearances in Summit County throughout October as Utah voters prepare for the Nov. 3 general election.

The events include informal meet-and-greets, a virtual town hall, and a Utah Democratic Party fundraiser, with candidates scheduled to appear for Summit County clerk, the Utah Legislature, and Congress.

Former Midway Mayor Celeste Johnson, the Democratic candidate for Utah House District 59, will kick off the series Thursday, Oct. 8, with a “Coffee and Conversation” from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. at 1205 Iron Horse Drive in Park City. No RSVP is required.

Johnson is running against Republican Luke Searle for the District 59 seat.

On Sunday, Oct. 11, Summit County Clerk Malena Stevens and Utah House District 4 candidate Zane Woolstenhulme will appear at a casual campaign event beginning at 3 p.m. at 3429 Saddleback Road.

Stevens, the incumbent county clerk, is running against Republican Suni Woolstenhulme. Zane Woolstenhulme is running against Republican Tiara Auxier for House District 4.

Kent Stewart Udell, the Democratic candidate for Utah’s 3rd Congressional District, will hold a virtual town hall Wednesday, Oct. 14, from 5:30 to 7 p.m.

Udell is one of six candidates certified for the District 3 general election. The ballot also includes Republican Celeste Maloy, Constitution Party candidate Cassie Easley, Libertarian Michael R. Stoddard, and unaffiliated candidates Adonis Hooslyn and Ayden Scott.

Also on Oct. 14, a fundraiser supporting the Utah Democratic Party is scheduled from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at the Park City home of Dr. John and Olivia Ziegler. Organizers said the event will include Utah Democratic leaders discussing the party’s strategy for the upcoming election.

The Zieglers, Barry and Allison Hanover, Sylvia Dambrosio, Joanna Charnes and Katie Wright are hosting the fundraiser. Those interested in attending can email RSVP@TissotSolutions.com.

Zane Woolstenhulme will make two additional campaign appearances the following week. He is scheduled to appear in Park City on Tuesday, Oct. 20, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Those interested can email chairHD4@gmail.com for the location.

Woolstenhulme will also appear in Oakley on Wednesday, Oct. 21, from 5:30 to 7 p.m. The address is available through the same email.

On Thursday, Oct. 22, Stevens and Johnson will participate in a fireside chat in Park Meadows from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Stevens is expected to discuss her work as county clerk and her goals for the office, while Johnson will discuss her campaign.

The campaign events come as Utah enters the final weeks of the 2026 election cycle. General election ballots are scheduled to be mailed to active registered voters beginning Oct. 13, and in-person early voting begins Oct. 20. The voter registration deadline is 5 p.m. Oct. 23, and Election Day is Tuesday, Nov. 3.
