Utah State Parks offer ‘Bounce Back’ passes for Fourth of July visitors amid fire restrictions

UTAH — As Utahns look for ways to celebrate the Fourth of July amid widespread fireworks restrictions, Utah State Parks is encouraging residents to head outdoors and explore public lands.

Utah State Parks announced Friday that visitors heading to a state park on July 4 will be eligible for a “Bounce Back” pass, allowing them to return to another state park free of charge. The offer is valid at all Utah State Parks, excluding state park golf courses.

Utah State Parks only guarantees distribution at staffed entrance gates, and staffing on July 4 can vary by crowd levels and time of day.

In and nearby Summit County, state parks with fee booths where you may be able to claim a voucher include Jordanelle, Echo, and Rockport State Parks.

The promotional pass can be redeemed for one free day-use admission at any Utah State Park from August 3–6, 2026.

The initiative comes as all state parks enter Stage 2 fire restrictions, which prohibit open fires, including in designated fire rings. Only devices using pressurized liquid or gas fuels—such as stoves, grills, or lanterns—with a shut-off valve are permitted, and must be used at least three feet away from flammable materials.

“Please recreate responsibly—enjoy our lakes, hike our trails, and make lasting memories with friends and family,” the announcement states. “This holiday, choose celebrations that keep our parks safe and fire-free.”
