Hoytsville bridge replacement begins, detour expected through late fall

Drivers will be rerouted via West Hoytsville Road or Old Lincoln Highway while Summit County replaces the bridge.

HOYTSVILLE, Utah — Drivers in eastern Summit County should plan for a months-long detour as work begins on the Hoytsville Road Bridge Replacement project.

The project began Monday, June 22, and is expected to continue through late fall, according to Summit County. During construction, traffic will be rerouted from Hoytsville Road using either West Hoytsville Road or Old Lincoln Highway. Parts of the road will remain open to residents only during the project, and drivers accessing the county public works buildings should use Old Lincoln Highway.

The bridge is located in northern Summit County between Wanship and Hoytsville. The project is listed by UDOT as a structure replacement on FA-2608 in Summit County.

Summit County has posted a full detour map at summitcounty.info/hoytsvilledetour.

Drivers are encouraged to plan ahead, follow posted detour signs, and allow extra travel time through the area while construction is underway.
