PARK CITY, Utah — Birthdays, bridal showers, graduations, anniversaries, a friend finally moving to town. Some moments just call for a celebration, and in this community, a plethora of local businesses are ready to help you pull one off without the stress. Whether you are feeding a crowd, setting a scene or creating an experience no one will forget, these Park City Chamber of Commerce members specialize in exactly that.

The Bake Shop and Chop Shop
When it comes to feeding a crowd, husband-and-wife team Paige and John Courtney run two of Park City’s most delicious event resources. At The Bake Shop, Paige Courtney said the most popular options for group events tend to be beignets, cakes and cupcakes. The beignets come with a variety of fillings, including strawberry, vanilla and chocolate, and can be packaged in gift boxes for easy sharing. Cakes and cupcakes are baked fresh from scratch for every order, with crowd favorites like strawberry cake with cream cheese frosting and carrot cake leading the way. Right now, raspberry white chocolate is having a moment, though Courtney said the fruit flavors tend to shift with the seasons.

For something more savory, The Bake Shop also puts together sandwich spreads. Two standouts are the turkey on house-made sourdough focaccia with microgreens, avocado and heirloom tomatoes, and the jambon beurre, a classic French sandwich made with a sourdough baguette, European butter, jambon ham imported from France and brie. “Come at us with your craziness,” Courtney said. “We don’t have online menus. We have a conversation with people.” Orders require at least three days’ notice and can be placed by emailing info@thebakeshopparkcity.com.
Over at Chop Shop, John Courtney handles the heartier side of event catering. Mezze and charcuterie platters are a specialty, with house-made hummus, pickled vegetables, sliced meats and house-baked breads all prepared in-house. The shop is also the only place in Park City to get a true Detroit-style pizza, available in eight generous slices or cut into smaller squares for easy grazing. For groups with bigger appetites, pre-ordered steaks and cuts are available, including dry-aged options with advance notice. Hot sandwiches like the French dip and the butler dip are another hit, best picked up on the way to an event. To place an order, email info@thechopshopparkcity.com with at least four to five days’ notice.

Fox School of Wine
For a celebration that goes beyond the usual party fare, Kirsten Fox and her faculty of wine professionals at Fox School of Wine (FSW) offers a few experiences worth noting. The most personalized option is a private custom wine event hosted at the location of your choice, whether that is a condo, a backyard or a vacation rental. FSW designs the tasting around the guest of honor, pairing wines to meaningful details like their career, favorite travel destinations and personal history. Guests learn something new about the person they are celebrating with every pour, making it a natural fit for milestone birthdays, bridal showers or bachelorette parties.
For groups that want to get out and explore, Fox School of Wine also offers private tours with transportation included. The Mines & Wines tour makes five stops tied to Park City’s mining history, with each wine paired to the character of the stop. At the old Miners Hospital, for example, you’re poured a Pinot Noir, chosen for its notably high levels of resveratrol, the antioxidant associated with heart health. The newer Gold Medal Wines Tour takes groups to Utah Olympic Park, where pairings are matched to the drama of the setting, including a Washington wine called Edge of Heaven served at the top of the K-120 ski jump. Fox said the experience is designed to flow seamlessly into the rest of the evening.
“We pick you up with bubbles, drop you back off three hours later, and a lot of people will have a chef come in to prep dinner while we’re out on the tour,” she said. “They walk in and enjoy the rest of their celebration.”
For something a little more casual, Fox School of Wine’s Recess classes on Main Street are a popular first stop for bachelorette parties and birthday groups before heading out to dinner. The public, 75-minute class covers five wines plus a blind tasting challenge, with rotating themes. The space at 613 Main St. holds up to 28 guests, and Fox can also bring the class format directly to a private group at their location. Mo + Co Floral
When it comes to setting the mood for a milestone event, Monet Jones, owner and lead designer of Mo + Co Floral, said florals are often the last thing people think about, but they shouldn’t be. Jones has been hands-on in the floral industry for over 20 years.
“Flowers do so much to create the entire vibe, the entire mood of your event,” she said. Jones describes her approach as custom, full-service floral artistry with a modern luxury aesthetic, built from the ground up around each client’s vision. Whether the starting point is a single inspiration photo or a loose concept, she said her favorite thing is to take that idea and run with it.
Jones handles everything from intimate at-home celebrations to corporate events and weddings, serving clients in Park City, Heber City, Kamas and Midway. Planning these events takes time and numerous steps, from the initial consult to design revisions, to stem calculations, and to floral sourcing. Her premium and specialty florals are sourced from all around the world. It takes a few weeks for these flowers to arrive after all final decisions have been made, but the wait is worth it. Summer and winter book quickly, she said, especially with weddings in the mix. In the summer months, she also sources locally through a Salt Lake-based grower collective whenever possible.
Jones has been hands-on in the floral industry for over 20 years, and with that experience, she wants readers to think of florals as a foundational part of event planning rather than an afterthought. “I’m really here to create something impressionable and something special,” she said. That collaborative, detail-forward process starts the moment a client reaches out. New clients can connect with Jones through her website contact page.
