Park City Transit shifts into summer bus service

PARK CITY, Utah — Summer bus service is here as Park City Transit changes gears for the off-season.

The shift became effective Sunday, April 5, and will continue until mid-November.

Summer buses have a shorter schedule than in winter, with services running from approximately 7:30 am–10:30 pm. During high-demand events (July 4th, Miner’s Day, Main Street festivals), buses will increase frequency along core routes.

After a successful pilot program in the 2025 season, leashed and muzzled dogs are now allowed on all Park City Transit buses. Riders with dogs must sit in the designated pet-friendly zone toward the rear of the bus.

Additionally, Park City Municipal is accepting artist proposals for 21 more bus shelter designs after unveiling a series of eight colorful, artist-designed bus shelters last year. In this second phase, artwork may be installed on shelters located in neighborhoods including Old Town, Prospector, Park Meadows, Bonanza Park, Resort Center, and Upper Deer Valley.

Winter service saw increased frequency along core routes to accommodate increased winter visitation and skier access to resorts. The express routes to Park City Mountain and Deer Valley from the Richardson Flat Park & Ride and the Citywide late-night route also returned this winter.

New this year, Park City Municipal piloted a weekend Bonanza Flats shuttle to take skiers into the backcountry. The new service was funded entirely by paid parking revenue collected through the summer season at the Bonanza Flat trailheads, according to city staff.
