PARK CITY, Utah — Park City Mountain announced Tuesday that Canyons Village will move to paid parking for the 2026-27 winter season, charging $29 a day at the new Canyons Village Parking Structure.
The change ends the free parking era skiers and riders have long relied on at the Canyons base area, including this past season when the first two levels of the garage opened at no cost. It brings Canyons Village in line with Mountain Village, where paid reservations have been required for years and rates run $29 or more for surface parking and $50 or more for the garage.

The parking structure, located near S.R. 224 and the Frostwood Drive/Canyons Resort Drive roundabout, is scheduled for full completion ahead of next winter. When it opens, it will consolidate surface parking that had been spread across the village into one garage connected to the new 10-person Canyons Village Skyway Gondola, which replaces the Cabriolet Lift.
Free options will remain at Canyons Village with specific conditions for the 2026-27 season:
- Free parking in the garage after 12 p.m.
- Free carpool parking for vehicles with four or more occupants, subject to available space
- Limited free day-skier parking in the surface lot adjacent to the garage
- A new Canyons Parking Garage Winter Season Parking Pass for frequent visitors
Park City Mountain said the updated plan is modeled on its existing Mountain Village program and is designed to reduce congestion, encourage carpooling, and increase the use of public transportation. Full details will be posted on the resort’s parking and transportation page.
TownLift previously reported on the garage’s phased opening last December, when the first two levels came online with free parking for the 2025-26 season. At that time many readers speculated this would be the end of free parking in the Canyons Village.
