PARK CITY, Utah — As construction begins on the new SR 224 Bus Rapid Transit project, High Valley Transit officially announced the new name for the system: The Bobsled Express, or The Bob, for short.

City and HVT officials gathered Friday afternoon at the transit district’s Sego Lily Campus to debut the name along with a branded bus such as ones that will be seen driving the route in coming years.
The new name was selected after over 300 suggestions were submitted through a community poll last fall. HVT narrowed the suggestions down to Double Black, The Pulse, Mountain Town Express, and the Bobsled Express.

Shauna Rohbock, a 2006 Olympic silver medalist in bobsledding, led the name reveal countdown while audience members rang cowbells.
Construction on SR 224 has already begun and is expected to continue through the season and into the coming years. The Bob is currently scheduled to come online in 2028.
