PARK CITY, Utah — In addition to the Food Pantries in the Christian Center buildings in both Park City and Heber City, the Mobile Food Pantry not only meets people where they are financially but also physically and logistically.
This year, instead of the usual opening date at the end of May, the Mobile Pantry trucks are driving out in April to distribute free, ‘rescued’ groceries from area stores, including produce, meat, eggs, milk, bread, and more.
“We’ve seen how, as the cost of living rises, the need for our services also rises.” Jaime Mira, CCPC Deputy Director of Food Security, told TownLift. “We don’t ask people questions about their employment or income status; we’re simply happy to help.”
Mobile Pantry stops are listed below. All run from 4 to 6 p.m.
- April 21, July 15, and September 2, Iron Horse
- May 6, July 22, and September 16, Aspen Village
- May 20, July 29, and September 30, Todd Hollow
- June 3 and August 5, Victory at Summit/Elk Meadows
- June 17 and August 12, Coalville (location TBD)
- June 24 and August 19, Kamas (location TBD)

“Our volunteers are essential.” Jessica Bryant, Deputy Director of Grants & Marketing for the CCPC, told TownLift. She’s referencing not only the dozen or so people buzzing around, stocking, unloading trucks, and checking people in, all with high-fives for each other and hugs and smiles among them as friends.
She and Mira are incredibly grateful for them, and she explains, “We couldn’t do what we do around here without them because we just couldn’t afford to staff this operation.”
Bryant discusses how the additional volunteerism by students at Park City High School is invaluable, especially the inclusion of students with special education needs. students. Also, students come and log volunteer hours for organizations like the National Junior Honor Society and generally bolster their college applications. They can use their CCPC hours to compete for the annual Park City High School Student Service Award.
