Park City High School students earn top-20 spots in statewide entrepreneur competition

Four teams advance to final round with $1,000 scholarships each; public voting now open

PARK CITY, UT — Park City School District recently shared that four student teams from the high school have advanced to the top 20 in the 2025-26 Tim Draper High School Utah Entrepreneur Challenge, each earning a $1,000 scholarship for developing technology-based solutions to address real-world problems.

The teams — Daybreak Alarm and Daybreak Sync, Kallo, Lockmate, and REHEAT — will compete for a share of $30,000 in additional cash and scholarships. Public voting to determine the top team ran through Feb. 27, with the winner to be announced Feb. 28 at Lassonde Studios at the University of Utah.

Daybreak Alarm and Daybreak Sync created paired scheduling and alarm applications designed to improve personal productivity and time management. The team argues that better daily organization leads to more balanced routines.

Kallo offers a child-tracking device allowing parents to monitor their children’s location without requiring additional apps or secondary hardware. The team’s pitch centers on balancing parental safety concerns with age-appropriate independence.

Lockmate targets vulnerabilities in residential security systems and proposes a smart technology solution that integrates with conventional home security systems. The team’s pitch identifies existing gaps in home protection and proposes a unified approach to closing them.

REHEAT targets household food waste by developing a method to reheat leftovers while preserving the original taste and texture. The team frames the product as part of a broader shift toward sustainable, eco-conscious habits.

The Tim Draper challenge, administered through the University of Utah’s Lassonde Entrepreneur Institute, invites high school students across Utah to develop and pitch original business concepts. This year’s competition drew entries from across the state.
