PARK CITY, Utah — Park City Water Polo is launching its Spring 2026 Intro to Water Polo program through Youth Sports Alliance, giving local children a chance to try a sport the club says is gaining momentum in Park City.
The beginner-focused program is designed for athletes with little or no prior experience. Since partnering with Youth Sports Alliance to offer the introductory sessions, Park City Water Polo says 80 children in the community have been introduced to the sport.
“Since introducing Intro to Water Polo to YSA, 80 children in the community have been introduced to water polo,” head coach Heather Flynn said. “It’s been incredible to watch young athletes discover a sport that builds confidence, teamwork, and resilience.”

The club is also continuing Splashball, a no-experience-required program for children ages 5 to 11. A new session is scheduled to begin on April 24. The program is designed to introduce younger athletes to the basic skills of water polo in a supportive setting.
Park City Water Polo said it is encouraging athletes of all ages to try the sport and is offering a free first week for new participants.
The spring recruitment push comes as Park City’s aquatics programs continue to post strong results.
The Park City High School girls’ swim team recently won a state championship, while the boys’ high school water polo team finished second at the state tournament. Head swim coach Gadi Shamah was also named coach of the year for high school swimming, and Flynn was named coach of the year for varsity boys water polo during the fall season.

“Aquatics are thriving in Park City,” Flynn said. “We are building a complete developmental pathway — from Splashball to high school competition — and creating opportunities for kids of all ages to get involved.”
Families interested in registering for the Spring 2026 Intro to Water Polo program can find information on the Youth Sports Alliance website. Additional details about Park City Water Polo’s programs are available here.
