PROVO, Utah — The Park City High School girls’ swim team captured its second straight 4A state title Friday and Saturday at Brigham Young University, while the boys’ team fell just four points shy of repeating as champions in a dramatic finish.
Competing at the 4A State Championships, the Miners’ girls team delivered a commanding performance, outscoring Desert Hills 383 to 232 to secure the program’s 12th state championship. The win gives Park City the second-most state titles among girls’ programs at PCHS, trailing only the girls’ cross country team’s 14 championships.

Results and records
Park City set two new 4A relay records during the meet.
Lily Weinberg (10th), Marlo Erickson (10th), Megan Dillon (9th), and Anna Klug (12th) won the 200 medley relay in 1:48.04, breaking the previous 4A record of 1:48.92 set by Wasatch in 2019.
Weinberg, Dillon, Ella Limback (10th), and Klug followed that performance with another record in the 200 freestyle relay, touching in 1:37.72 to surpass the previous mark of 1:38.87 set by Timpview in 2017.

Several Miners girls earned podium finishes:
- Anna Klug (12th): 2nd in the 50 freestyle; 3rd in the 100 freestyle
- Ella Limback (10th): 2nd in the 200 freestyle; 2nd in the 500 freestyle
- Megan Dillon (9th): 2nd in the 100 butterfly; 3rd in the 50 freestyle
- Lily Weinberg (10th): 2nd in the 100 backstroke
Klug, the girls’ team captain, said the back-to-back title was the result of months of preparation.
“Both our girls and boys teams really showed up this meet with our girls breaking multiple records and bringing home our second state title in a row,” Klug said. “We have worked so hard this season and knew that it would all culminate to this moment. This team is so supportive of one another and we are so happy to have had the chance to race fast this weekend!”

The Park City boys nearly defended their 4A crown but came up just short, finishing second to Mountain Crest 217 to 213.
Park City held the team lead heading into the final event, the 400 freestyle relay. Mountain Crest dropped four seconds from its previous time and edged the Miners by just 0.03 seconds to win the relay and the overall team title.
Top individual finishers for the boys included:
- Logan Siegrist (10th): 1st in the 200 freestyle; 1st in the 100 freestyle
- Harrison Bae (11th): 2nd in the 500 freestyle
- Josh Ostrovsky (10th): 3rd in the 500 freestyle
Coaching Honors
Head coach Gadi Shamah, who also leads the Park City Swim Club, was named both 4A Male and Female Coach of the Year by his fellow 4A coaches.
Assistant coaches Heather Flynn, Alec Goldfield, Parker Ivers, and Britt Shunn-Mitchell praised both teams’ performances and the culture built throughout the season.
“It was a great meet, with a huge win on the girls’ side (back to back) and a hard-fought battle all the way to the end for the boys,” the coaching staff said in a joint statement. “Both teams were impressive throughout the entire weekend, showing not only talent and determination but also resilience and focus. We saw some amazing swims, personal bests, and big performances when it mattered most.
“What makes us most proud is how this team came together throughout the season. The energy on deck, the support for one another, the cheering, and the constant encouragement — that is our success. This weekend was a true reflection of the culture we’re building: one of camaraderie, teamwork, and pride in representing PCHS. Wins and times matter, but the way this group supports one another as a team is what really makes this special.”
The Miners leave Provo with hardware, records, and momentum as both teams continue a growing dynasty in Utah’s 4A ranks.
