High Valley Transit invites public to vote on name for upcoming Bus Rapid Transit system

PARK CITY, Utah — High Valley Transit (HVT) is inviting the public to help choose between four name options for its new Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) system, which will connect Old Town and Kimball Junction along SR-224.

The four finalists were selected from more than 300 name suggestions submitted by community members. During a collaborative workshop held on October 20, staff and residents narrowed the list down to the top four.

“The committee looked at names that reflected community character, recreation aspects, and the benefits of the bus rapid transit line,” HVT said.

“The new BRT line belongs to the community and will improve daily travel for thousands of people each day,” said Gabriel Shields, Chief Development Officer at HVT. “We’re excited to partner with the community to create a clear identity that’s easy for residents and visitors to recognize.”

The four options:

  • Mountain Town Express
    • Shorthand: The Express
    • Code: MTX
    • Attributes: clear, utilitarian, and easy to “get”
  • The Pulse

    • Code: TPX
    • Attributes: lively, dependable, and full of energy
  • Double Black
