SNAPPED: Inaugural Mountainkind Morning brews community spirit
PARK CITY, Utah — Summit County residents brewed up a strong sense of community at Wednesday’s inaugural Mountainkind Morning, pouring into local coffee shops to share warmth and conversation over complimentary cups of coffee.
Senior Director of Community Relations, Becca Gerber said, “Mountainkind Morning saw over 1,000 members of our local community come together over coffee at a dozen of their favorite locations from Coalville to Deer Valley. In addition to a free brew, they took home a branded coffee mug and a message about gratitude and living in the moment at this special time of year.
Thirteen coffee shops from Park City to Coalville participated, offering free drip coffee to residents and workforce members between 7 and 10 a.m.
“Mountainkind is a word that encompasses the spirit of people who live and work in Summit County,” said Elizabeth Bolton, Partnership Development Manager at the Chamber, to one of the coffee shop customers in the drive-thru line. “People who care about the outdoors, about the environment, care about other people, and shop local. We’re not here to tell people to act a certain way because we believe people are already Mountainkind in Summit County – we’re just trying to amplify that culture and bring people together.”
The gathering marked a unified effort to foster community connections across Summit County’s diverse neighborhoods.
“The Chamber of Commerce appreciates how local residents and workforce come together to create a sense of community and a warm welcome to guests from all around the world. These coffee houses are also a place locals come for downtime and a quiet moment to themselves,” Gerber said. “Community is created in these spaces and we are grateful to these Chamber-member businesses who support Summit County in meaningful ways. We hope to create more events of this nature in the future.”
