Podium place for Park City High’s volleyball squad in Mountain View tournament

PARK CITY, Utah — The Park City Miner’s High School Girl’s Varsity Volleyball took third place in the 5A/6A Challenge Tournament at Mountain View High School in Orem, Oct 10 – 12.

City senior, outside hitter, Sis Stouffer told TownLift,  “I think the tournament went really well.  We played as a unit and competed strong.  This weekend showed us what we need to work on before State, but also that we can compete with these 5A and 6A teams.”

Overall, the Miners took third place out of 18 teams with four wins and two losses. They beat Syracuse, Herriman, Mountain View and Timpview.

“The tournament was a great opportunity to challenge our team against other competitive programs,” Miner, junior, outside hitter, Sabine Smith told TownLift. “We went 4-2 over the course of three days and both losses were in close 5-set matches.  Whether it was the memorable meal or the several hour-long bus rides, the team really just bonded and got closer this weekend over a successful tournament.”
