Mountain Mettle Boxing event to raise funds for Parkinson’s and youth scholarships

PARK CITY, Utah — RISE Boxing is set to host the Mountain Mettle Boxing and Charity event on September 7, with proceeds benefiting Parkinson’s Disease research and Rise Boxing’s youth scholarships program.

The event, which begins at 6 p.m. at The Corner Store at the base of Park City Mountain Resort, will feature 20 amateur boxing matches. It is sanctioned by USA Boxing and will highlight local and regional talent.

Funds raised will be split evenly between the Rocky Mountain chapter of the Parkinson’s Foundation and RISE Strong Foundation’s youth scholarship program.

RISE Boxing’s Parkinson’s program supports more than 30 participants with classes aimed at slowing disease progression and enhancing quality of life. This year, RISE provided over 100 hours of coaching to those affected by Parkinson’s and awarded 90 scholarships through its youth program.
