Local author Marianne C. Bohr to share GR20 trail experiences at Summit County Library
PARK CITY, Utah– Join local author Marianne C. Bohr at the Kimball Junction Branch of the Summit County Library, where she will discuss her experiences trekking the GR20 Trail in Corsica.
The event, titled “Adventure Begins at Your Library!” is scheduled for Thursday, Aug. 15, from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m.
Bohr, an award-winning essayist and experienced traveler, will share insights from her latest book, The Twenty: One Woman’s Trek Across Corsica on the GR20 Trail, published in 2023. The book details her journey across one of Europe’s most challenging long-distance trails, offering an in-depth look at the physical and emotional trials she encountered.
Having made Park City her home, Bohr is no stranger to adventure. Her passion for travel is evident in her previous book, Gap Year Girl: A Baby Boomer Adventure Across 21 Countries, which chronicles a yearlong European sabbatical she undertook with her husband.
The upcoming event will provide attendees with an opportunity to hear Bohr recount her solo trek on the GR20 Trail, sharing stories of the breathtaking landscapes and personal discoveries she encountered along the way. The talk promises to be an inspiring reflection on the determination and resilience needed to complete such a demanding journey.
Bohr, who has spent years in publishing and teaching middle school French, now enjoys the outdoor lifestyle of Park City, where she skis, hikes, and writes.
The event is free and open to the public. Copies of The Twenty will be available for purchase, with a book signing by Bohr following the presentation.
