Wellness guru Deepak Chopra speaks at Midway wellness resort event
AMEYALLI welcomes Deepak Chopra
MIDWAY, Utah — Developer Chuck Heath was exploring land in Utah via Google Earth when he discovered an old sign reading “Mountain Spaa” on an empty plot of land. Upon further investigation, he found that the land, located outside of Park City, was once a hot springs destination known as Luke’s Hot Pots, established in 1888 by Andrew Luke and his brother-in-law John Busby.
Luke’s Hot Pots featured 28 natural hot tubs, attracting weary travelers. Fast-forward 136 years, and the site is being transformed into AMEYALLI, a wellness residence and resort. The development is centered around natural hot springs and is supported by the principles of celebrity wellness influencer Deepak Chopra and the Chopra Foundation.
At an event showcasing the project’s latest phase, Chopra spoke in Midway on Friday, July 19.
At the event, Chopra emphasized the importance of holistic health and the potential for disease prevention. “I would venture to say that 95% or more of disease is preventable and even reversible, including heart disease and some types of cancer,” Chopra stated. He highlighted the role of epigenetics and how emotions such as compassion, empathy, love, and joy can positively influence gene expression.
Chopra also discussed the significance of technological advancements in medicine, including AI. “AI is one of the greatest things we have now because AI is a large language model. No one can be an expert in all kinds of languages that humans have developed,” he said.
Additionally, Chopra introduced the WellBeing Index developed by the Chopra Foundation, which measures various levels of well-being from survival to awakening to the spirit. “Everybody needs to have a joyful, energetic body, a loving, compassionate heart, and a creative mind,” Chopra concluded.
Heath said several homes at AMEYALLI will be ready by August 1, although the entire resort may not be complete for up to two years.
