Attempted murder suspects arrested after firing nearly 50 rounds into crowded Summit County party
Two arrested after gunfire erupts at large Peoa party, injuring two
PEOA, Utah — Two individuals were arrested following a large party in Peoa where nearly 50 gunshots were fired, resulting in injuries to at least two people. The incident occurred on a rental property early Sunday morning, prompting a response from the Summit County Sheriff’s Office. Sgt. Felicia Sotelo of the Summit County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that there were two injuries.
According to KSL, Manuel A. Pimentel Gonzalez, 23, was booked into the Summit County Jail on charges including attempted murder, possession of a gun by a restricted person, and shooting in the direction of a person. Francisco Enrique Romero-Fuenmayor, 23, faces similar charges along with drug possession.
At approximately 3 a.m., deputies were dispatched to the location after receiving reports of shots fired. KSL reports that, upon arrival, they encountered over 300 party attendees, many fleeing the scene. Initial investigations revealed 29 shell casings, with a total of 48 casings recovered and three bullets lodged in vehicles. Surveillance footage showed multiple individuals discharging handguns and submachine guns at party guests.
