February’s snowfall records set to rise with incoming 15-25 inch storm

PARK CITY, Utah — On Feb. 23, Park City Mountain announced that February 2024 has been the snowiest February on record for the resort, with 102 inches of snow falling in the month. The Utah Avalanche Center (UAC) and the National Weather Service are forecasting an additional 15-25 inches of snow in the mountains by Tuesday night, further adding to the record-breaking total.

A Winter Weather advisory is in effect from 5 p.m. Monday through 5 p.m. Tuesday, calling for 4-10 inches of snow across the Wasatch Back, including Huntsville, Park City and Heber City.

PowderChasers.com says that Utah will experience very windy conditions from the SW Monday and high elevation snow levels (Rain possibly below 7000 feet). A strong cold front will enter Utah Monday night, lowering snow levels to the Valley floor. Powderchasers says that Tuesday morning will be a full-on powder day with 10-20 inches in the Cottonwoods with moderate to strong winds from the NW.
