Park City Fire District welcomes new firefighters

'Our newest 9 firefighters completed 13 weeks of intense physical and mental training and will eagerly report for duty tomorrow morning' - Battalion Chief Scott Greenwood

PARK CITY, Utah — In a significant addition to its firefighting team, the Park City Fire District (PCFD) celebrated the graduation of Recruit Class #16 on Dec. 6, at Station 33. Nine new firefighters have joined the ranks after completing a rigorous 13-week training program.

The graduates, Bryson Allison, Russell Buhecker, Eric Gratien, Taylor Hart, Dusty Kerns, Asa Low, Jonathan Price, Ruben Santana, and Tanner White, are now ready to serve the community of Park City.

Battalion Chief Scott Greenwood of the PCFD expressed his pride in the graduates’ achievement, saying, “Our newest nine firefighters completed 13 weeks of intense physical and mental training and will eagerly report for duty tomorrow morning. We are proud of their hard work and dedication to the fire service and look forward to working with them for several years.”

Fire Chief Bob Zanetti, also from the PCFD, lauded the group’s efforts, saying, “This group has worked extremely hard over the past 13 weeks. I’m excited for them to hit the floor and join the team.”

During training, these firefighters tested for the following certifications:
  • Firefighter I and II
  • Hazmat Awareness
  • Hazmat Operations
  • Apparatus Driver Operator Pumper
  • Apparatus Driver Operator Aerial
  • Wildland Fire Red Card
  • Advanced EMT
