Ask an Officer: Does a skiing speed limit exist?
PARK CITY, Utah — This month, as locals and visitors pray for snow, the Park City Police Department (PCPD) answers a question regarding ski laws.
While there aren’t any officers on the slopes with radar speed guns or a skiing speed limit per se, there are regulations in place to keep everyone on the mountain safe.
Officer Clayton Eves said, “In our municipal code, there is a criminal element to reckless skiing. If you’re unable to maintain control of yourself or cause an accident due to your inability to ski, you could be cited for reckless skiing.”
With this information and responsibility for yourself and damage to others, let’s hope a Gwenyth Paltrow moment only happens once in a blue moon.
