Hawaiian Airlines begins nonstop service from SLC to Honolulu
Salt Lake City will become Hawaiian Airlines 16th gateway city on the continental U.S.
SALT LAKE CITY — Hawaiian Airlines began sales today for its new daily nonstop service from Salt Lake City to Honolulu.
Starting May 13, guests will be able to fly between Utah and Hawaii aboard Hawaiian Airlines’ 189-seat Airbus A321neo aircraft.
“We know this new route will excite travelers in both Utah and Hawaiʻi given our tourism and education ties, and shared Pacific Island communities. We are eager to strengthen these relationships when we launch our service next summer,” said Peter Ingram, president and CEO of Hawaiian Airlines.
According to the Kem C. Gardner Policy Institute at the University of Utah, Utah has the fifth largest state-wide Pacific Islander population in the nation with close to 50,000 Pacific Islanders, ranking behind Hawaii, California, Washington, and Texas.
“We are thrilled to welcome Hawaiian Airlines to Salt Lake City International,” said Bill Wyatt, executive director of the Salt Lake City International Airport. “Hawaiʻi is not only a favorite destination for Utahns to vacation, but is also a popular location for family members to visit.”
HA84 will depart from the Daniel K. Inouye International Airport at 6:50 p.m. and arrive at SLC at 5:15 am the following day, and the HA83 will depart from the Salt Lake City International Airport at 7 a.m. and arrive in Honolulu at 9:55 a.m.
