SLC premiere of Teton Gravity’s ‘Flying High Again’

UTAH — Teton Gravity Research has released the trailer for its latest snowboard film, “Flying High Again.”

The Salt Lake City premiere of “Flying High Again” is Thursday, Oct. 19 at 7:30 p.m. at the Jeanne Wagner Theatre. Tickets are $15.

This collaboration between TGR and snowboard film director Mike Hatchett, founder of Standard Films, marks the culmination of a long-standing relationship with TGR co-founders Todd and Steve Jones.

The roots of this partnership trace back to 1995, when Hatchett first crossed paths with the Jones brothers in Alaska. From there, their shared passion for the mountains and filmmaking flourished, showcasing groundbreaking talents such as Johan Olofsson and Jeremy Jones during the early stages of their careers.

“The original goal was to make the best snowboard film we could and really focus on the athletes being the stars,” Hatchett said in a press release. “We wanted to make a rider-based movie and let the athletes do the talking. It is a mix of freestyle and big-mountain riding.”

“Flying High Again,” TGR’s ninth feature-length snowboard film, embodies the essence of Hatchett’s and TGR’s filmmaking prowess. From the untouched treasures of Idaho to the iconic backcountry of Lake Tahoe, from Utah’s featherlight powder to TGR’s own backyard in Wyoming, the film encapsulates the spirit of adventure. Set against the backdrop of a remarkable winter season in 2022-23, “Flying High Again” captures the rewards of record-breaking snowfall across North America.

Hatchett and TGR have assembled a remarkable cast of athletes, including Bode Merrill, John Jackson, Danny Davis, Elena Hight, Jeremy Jones, and many other leading figures in the snowboarding world.
