Summit County Judge Shauna Kerr to retire

SUMMIT COUNTY, Utah – Long time Summit County Justice Court Judge Shauna Kerr will retire in December. Kerr, who was appointed as a justice of Summit County in 2009, received her Juris Doctorate degree from the Pepperdine School of Law in 1980.

Prior to taking the bench, Kerr worked as the Tooele city attorney and as the assistant Park City attorney. Kerr also served in local government in Summit County — she sat on the Park City Council and the Summit County Commission.

Summit County is now accepting applicants for a Justice Court judge. Applications will be open until Oct. 23. Candidates must have a law degree that qualifies them for admission to any U.S. state’s bar association and be at least 25 years old, a U.S. citizen, a resident of Utah for at least three years, and reside in Summit or Tooele counties or any county adjacent to Summit County.
