SNAPPED: Can an umbrella help you during a lightning storm?

PARK CITY, Utah – While some believe that carrying an umbrella in a lightning storm can increase your chances of being struck by lightning, the Umbrella Bar at Canyons Village helped protect a handful of people from the strong rain, wind, hail and lightning storm that passed through Park City Thursday afternoon.

The storm cycle was responsible for starting two new grass fires in the region, as well as some minor flooding.

TownLift Reader Mack Lewis shared this video of their experience during the storm from the Umbrella Bar.
