Utah Film Commission announces 3 new productions to be filmed in Utah
UTAH—The Utah Film Commission recently announced three new productions approved by the Governor’s Office of Economic Opportunity Board, with an expected impact of $45 million and the creation of 1,700 new jobs.
“We are excited to see a diversity of productions filming around the state and putting our talented crews and vendors to work,” Virginia Pearce, Utah Film Commission director, said in a press release.
“Destined at Christmas 2” is the follow-up to the 2022 holiday film that debuted on Great American Family. Bringing the story back to the screen with local filmmaker Brittany Wiscombe producing and directing means a homegrown production is currently being filmed in Utah County. Estimated Utah spend is $447,517.
The feature film “Oops All Berries,” approved for the Utah Motion Picture Incentive Program, will start filming this summer across the scenic Emery and Grand counties. Estimated Utah spend is $4,560,961.
Paramount’s untitled episodic series has been approved for Utah’s Motion Picture Incentive Program and is set to be filmed in Summit County exclusively at the Utah Film Studios. Estimated Utah spend for this project is $40 million.
“We love Utah’s film industry, businesses and people,” Brian Brough, producer at Orem-based Silver Peak Productions, said in a press release. “By filming in Utah, we’re able to find the hardworking crew, talented actors and beautiful locations to bring our movie to life.”
