Where to drop off unused medications on National Prescription Drug Take Back Day

SUMMIT COUNTY, Utah — The Drug Enforcement Administration’s next National Prescription Take Back Day is on Saturday, April 22.

National Prescription Take Back Day happens twice annually, and is an opportunity for the public to remove unnecessary prescriptions safely and anonymously from their homes in order to prevent abuse, or illegal redistribution.

During the last National Take Back Day in October 2022, 647,163 pounds of prescription medications were collected nationwide.

According to the U.S. Department of Justice’s Drug Force Administration, the following locations in Summit County will be participating in National Prescription Take Back Day:

  • Smith’s – 1725 Uinta Way, Park City, UT 84098
  • Summit County Sheriff’s Office – 6300 Justice Center Road, Park City, UT 84098

Residents can drop off unused medications at either location between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. on April 22.
