Video from UDWR shows the continued rise of the Great Salt Lake
UTAH — The Utah Division of Water Resources posted a video on their social media showing a promising trend for the Great Salt Lake even before the spring runoff has taken effect. While the 3ft rise since the lake’s historic low in November is a big win, it is important to remember that the lake sees significant evaporation over the summer months, which means that the net gain from this snowy winter season and all the efforts to increase flow won’t be known till later in the year.
A look from the sky at #GreatSaltLake last week. The lake has risen 3 feet since its historic low in Nov. As a comparison, Great Salt Lake barely rose 1 foot all of last year. The Great Salt Lake has risen by a foot but how does that affect its dire state?
